About JNR Builds

Who runs JNR Builds, how the part picker and its prices work, and how the site makes money.

Why this site exists

JNR Builds is run by Joshua Ramdhanie (JRAM), a web developer in Trinidad and Tobago. It exists to answer one question honestly: what should you actually buy for your budget? Not the most expensive part we can link, not whatever launched this week — the part list that makes sense for your money.

When a part stops being the right answer, we replace it and say why.

How builds and prices work

The part picker checks every build for CPU socket, memory type, motherboard size and power, and says plainly when something can’t be checked. It doesn’t show prices: our catalogue’s prices fell out of date as memory and graphics card prices rose in 2026. Each part has a Check price link to the retailer instead.

How we’re paid

Right now the site is funded by affiliate links. If you buy through one, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That only works if the recommendations stay trustworthy. The details are in our affiliate disclosure, linked at the bottom of every page.

What we won’t do

No sponsored rankings, no pay-to-place parts, and no paywalled guides. Every guide and every ebook is free.

Where to start

New to building? Follow the six-step path, or pick a budget on the home page and let the part picker put a build together. Stuck on something? Ask other builders in the forum.
